Because this morning I found out my roommate has a handgun and a shotgun in his room. I’m not entirely surprised, but a warning would have been nice.

I usually keep mine locked in the trunk of my car.

Meh. Not the big if deal IMO as long as people aren’t idiots. My old roommate and I kept what sime people would cobsider a small arsenal in our room for a while (locked away of course) and nobody cared.

Oh, I’m not squeamish around guns or anything. However, my issue was that they were being decently rowdy at 5 am on a Tuesday morning while also drunk casually dicking around with a handgun.

Yeah, uh, that’s some bullshit right there. As someone who has been around drunks with guns before (HE SHOT A HOLE THROUGH HIS 2ND FLOOR APT INTO THE 1ST FLOOR APT), this isn’t a good thing.
New Rule: No guns when drinking. EVAR.
ETA: Who the hell gets drunk on a Monday night and stays up until 5am?!?!

Yeah, no clue if it was loaded or not. But I came from an extended family that is pretty strict on the always assume its loaded rule.

My roommates. The conspiracy theorist studying to be a doctor, and the drop out bailing on engineering to go do theater management.
Yeah, I just treat guns very formally. I’ve been bitched out for even being to casual with an obviously not loaded shotgun from the 1800’s. So its just kinda stuck, not that its a bad thing, but it has.

I come from a pacifist family. I had to pick up on the firearms myself. I have a very strict policy on safety myself.
